Fall Phenology | October 15th | 9am-4pm (9-11 years old)

Signs of autumn are all around us; leaves changing color, birds and insects migrating, and other animals preparing to hibernate for winter. But why does this happen every year? In this fall break camp, campers will learn about Phenology (seasonal natural phenomena) and how it affects the plants and animals in our outdoor neighborhoods. Campers will also get to conduct a biodiversity survey in the outdoor environment around the museum. This camp is best suited for ages 9-11.

Day camps at Morrill Hall are hands-on, minds-on experiences where campers explore natural history topics. Each camp is led by UNSM educators, with potential opportunities to engage with our museum researchers and guest speakers.*

During each camp, participants will participate in a variety of activities, a snack will be provided, and each camper will make items they can take home. Please refer to our FAQ section and Information Packet on the website for more information.

* Researcher and guest participation based on camp topic and researcher availability.

Camp Photography Policy:
The museum may take photos during the camp and activities for purposes of internal and external communications and/or promotions. A photo release statement is included with registration, allowing you to opt in or out of having your child photographed.

Refund Policy:
Camp space is limited and all camp registrations are considered final. Refund or partial refunds will not be issued for any no-shows or missed days. The University of Nebraska State Museum reserves the right to cancel camps due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, in which participants will be notified and full refund will be issued.
